On the way to a modern workplace, the introductions of OneDrive for Business as well as SharePoint Online in which fme AG has supported Debeka from the beginning are about to start. First of all, a vision and the strategy for introducing the necessary services were developed. Subsequently, the project team started to create the technical and regulatory basis and began to develop a migration concept for all filing systems.
Debeka uses migration-center from fme AG to analyze the current files and thus to prepare for the subsequent migrations. In addition to manual migration work, automated and audit-proof migrations are to be carried out with the help of migration-center. The product provides more than 220 migration paths, including SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. In addition, the migration can be scheduled so that system downtimes are avoided.
fme AG also supports the insurance company in issues relating to IT security and data protection. With the help of a “BigPicture” on the future file storage in Microsoft 365, all relevant stakeholders were met at an early stage.
“As a specialist in enterprise content management (ECM) and the audit-proof migration of large amounts of data, we rely on 25 years of experience and are thus one of the leading manufacturers in this application area,” explains Frank Mittelstaedt, one of the two founders of fme. “We have even developed our own software product for this use case. The partnership with Microsoft has also existed for almost 25 years. Among other things, we are a Microsoft Gold Partner for the competence field ‘Collaboration and Content’,” Mittelstaedt continues.
Founded in 1905, Debeka is one of the oldest and largest companies in the insurance industry. The Debeka Group offers a wide range of insurance and financial services and focuses not only on its members and customers, but also on its employees. For an innovative employer, this was reason enough to create a modern workplace based on Microsoft 365 for all of its 16,000 employees.
